There are three airports that serve the region. Perpignan in France is an hour's drive away whilst Barcelona Airport and Girona Airport are South of Empuriabrava. Barcelona Airport is a two hour drive whilst Girona Airport takes 45 minutes.
If you are driving to Empuriabrava, it is best to take the E-15/A-7 motorway and get off at Junction 3 if you are traveling from France, or Junction 4 if you are coming from the south e.g. Girona or Barcelona. Which ever junction you take you will get onto the N-II. Travel along the N-II (for 6.1 Km if you are coming from the north or 5.8 Km if you are coming from the south) until you see the exit for Roses (you will be near Figueres). Simply follow the signs for Roses as you travel along the C-260 for 13.5 Km until you get to Empuriabrava.
The nearest train station to Empuriabrava is in Figueres and you can get a train to Figueres from Barcelona Airport or Girona city centre.

Kitchen is situated on the ground floor. It is equipped with washing machine, electric stove/oven, coffee machine, kettle, microwave and refrigerator. A dishwashing machine is placed right next to the kitchen, in the parlor. A table and chairs are in the dining area comfortably placed so you can enjoy eating inside the house. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Bathroom is situated on the first floor. It includes bath with shower, wash basin, toilet and a cupboard.
There is also a hairdryer for your use.
There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor. All the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes.
One bedroom is with a double bed and a balcony with the view of the channels. Another bedroom is with a sofa bed.
And one more bedroom is with two bunk beds.
Living room is very cozy and roomy. It is situated on the ground floor close to the dining area. It is equipped with TV, radio, DVD and VHS with a small collection of movies. There is also a collection of books in English.
You can enjoy spending time just sitting outside on the terraces. Two private terraces are isolated from neighbors from both sides and are facing the canals. The top terrace is equipped with an electrical sunshade.
There are also 6 chairs and a table, as well as 2 sun beds in the garden-terrace where you can bathe in the sun enjoying your book or a drink.
The town itself is situated in a rectangle of land bordered by the rivers Salins to the north and the Muga to the south. The western boundary is the Figures/Roses road whilst the box is completed by the Mediterranean Sea which gives Empuriabrava a kilometer of beach.
Empuriabrava has two long safe sandy beaches on either side of the marina. Beach bars serving cold drinks and snacks offer shade and refreshment. The main beach offers a range of water based activities in the high season. Within a short driving distance there are many more beaches and water based trips and activities.
A boat trip will take you to the Medes Islands, a fish reserve off the coast of Estartit where snorkelling and diving are popular, or just watch the sealife through the glass bottom boats..
It is very much a holiday destination, but every year more and more people live in Empuriabrava all year round. Visitors will stay in villas, apartments, hotels or camp sites and enjoy the beautiful beach, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, take tours of the canals or be adventurous and go scuba or sky diving. In fact, a good indication that you are nearing Empuriabrava is when you can see sky divers with parachutes falling from the sky.
Boating is a great part of what Empuriabrava is all about. It has around 5000 moorings and 24kms of canals as well as a lovely marina which is ideal not only enjoying them from yachts but also enjoying them with a cup of coffee or glass of wine from a restaurants and cafes waterfront.
If you don't like to stay on the beach all the time and have an adventurous spirit you should definitely visit some of the places we mention below:
On both sides of Empuriabrava lie the Parc Natural Del's Aiquamolls. This is a wonderful area for walking
and cycling.
You can also find all kinds of facilities: a restaurant self-service, a pizzeria-hamburger, a new souvenir shop and a tourist information centre.
You can also visit the Dali Theatre-Museum in nearby Figueres, the remote coastal village of Cadaques which is famous for being refuge to many artists from all over the world including Salvador Dali.
On the way to El Port de la Selva visit the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rhodes.
Take time to visit the Jewish Quarter and the Cathedral with it's unique gothic nave, large bell tower and Romanesque Cloisters.
In the Natural Park 'Aiguamolls de l'Emporda 7 km away you will discover a great variety of animal species and rich vegetation. Moorhens, coots and storks live side by side with all types of insects, frogs, badgers, rabbits, weasels and even otters in a protected area.
If you have come with the children you should definitely visit the Aqua Park. It is a few minutes drive away in Roses has a wide variety of water rides and other water attractions, wave pool, kids lagoon etc.
In AQUA BRAVA, the park with the best feelings of the Costa Brava, you will find the most amazing water attractions, for all ages. You can't miss the well known Wave Pool, which with 5000 square metres, the children areas the Tropic Island and Kid's Lagoon, twisting slides, no end descents, relaxing pools, crazy rivers...
You can forget, THE ANACONDA. This colossal river rafting adventure sends you racing through a 200 meters of series of twists and turns and the two emblamatic toboggans, the Bullet and the Kamikaze. These two racing slides are an exciting and slippery good time.

Accompanied by a professional instructor with thousands of jumps behind him, you can enjoy one of the most memorable moments of a lifetime. Securely attached to a qualified instructor, you will jump and taste 1 minute of amazing freefall at 200 km/h!! After the instructor opens the parachute at 4.000 ft, by no means has the experience ended. You can then enjoy 5 minutes of flight over Empuriabrava and the Bay of Roses. The final landing is made in the same area that you took off from where your friends and family will be waiting to receive you.
Rent a bike to visit the beautiful medieval village of Castello d'Empuries 5km away. Cycle down the new traffic free cycle paths through the countryside to see the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria built in the 12th Century. Cycle via the bird sanctuary on the south side of town, binoculars is available at the sanctuary.
A refundable security deposit of 250 EUROS will be taken in cash on arrival. The deposit will be refunded provided the property, on inspection, is left in a clean and tidy condition. If not, the extra cleaning will be deducted from the deposit. Any breakage must be replaced.
If the Tenant leaves the property before our representative arrives, the keys for the house can be left in the letter box after prior agreement. We will refund the security deposit to your bank account once inspection has been made. Bank charges should be paid by the Tenant. The Tenant is responsible for the keys to the property. If keys are lost, there will be a replacement charge of 50 EUROS.
Before a booking is valid the following must be fulfilled:
The Owner must receive 50% deposit. After receipt of the deposit the Owner will send the booking confirmation to the Tenant. A further 50% must be paid into our bank account 8 (eight) weeks before your arrival date. You can pay by bank transfer to our Spanish account or to our Danish account. Account numbers will be sent to you by e-mail. After prior agreement, it will also be possible to pay the 50% in cash upon arrival.
Cancellations must be made in writing. If cancellation is made minimum 6 weeks before your planned arrival, a refund of 75% will be transferred back into your bank account. Any bank charges are paid by the Tenant.
A pre-payment of 50% of the ACCOMMODATION price will be paid by way of bank transfer to the following Bank Account in Spain. This contract is not considered valid until such time as the deposit is received.
Either: The full balance of the price must be paid in cash upon arrival. The Tenant may inspect the property before paying the balance.
Or: The full balance of the price must be received NO LATER than 4 weeks (28 days) before the arrival date. In the event of a reservation made within 4 weeks of the arrival date, the total price including all extras will be sent to the following account – payment will not be split.
Once confirmation of the booking has been received, any modifications or cancellation must be made in writing, either by post, fax or e-mail, by the person who made the initial booking. We will do our utmost to accommodate any modifications you request. We regret that there may be a cancellation fee if applicable.
Cancellation fees as follows:
More than 3 months before arrival date: 10% of rental fee
90 – 45 days before arrival date: 25%
44 - 30 days before arrival date: 50%
29 - 2 days before arrival date: 80%
1 day before arrival date or after: 100%
The Owner reserves the right to change or cancel the booking. If The Owner makes a change and The Tenant does not wish to accept it, The Owner must offer a refund of the money paid by The Tenant. The Owner will not be responsible to pay any other compensation following a change or a cancellation.
In the event of force majeure (natural disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, flood, epidemic, acts of terrorism, etc) The Owner will have no liability to The Tenant. No monies, including compensation costs, expenses, cost of finding alternative accommodation or any other sums will be paid by The Owner.
We strongly recommend that you arrange for personal travel insurance to cover any eventualities. The Owner will not accept responsibility for property that is lost, stolen or damaged, nor for personal injuries.
Arrival is usually after 4:00 pm. Departure is by 10:00 a.m. Should you notify us of an early arrival, we will endeavour to have your property free for occupancy as early as possible, but this of course depends upon prior departures. In the event of a late arrival (after 9:00 p.m.), please advise in advance, and we will make arrangements for the collection of keys, but regrettably this may incur a small surcharge, subject to the type of arrangements made.
The property will be inspected upon departure and if any items are missing or damaged, special cleaning is required, or if the property is left in an otherwise unacceptable condition, an amount will be quantified and deducted from your security deposit before returning the balance to you. If the total amount supersedes the security deposit, the Tenant is liable for additional invoicing, to cover any losses, maintenance, additional cleaning etc.
If the property is in decent condition, the full security deposit will be returned.
Upon making your reservation you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of all members of your party during your stay. The Owner reserves the right at any time to terminate the stay of any party member/s whose behaviour is unacceptable and therefore likely to cause danger or distress to others, or damage to property. No refund will be given, nor will The Owner be liable to pay compensation or expenses that you may incur as a result of this. Any damage caused to persons or property will be paid for by The Tenant.
The maximum persons allowed in the house must be respected. If we become aware that this is not the case, we reserve the right to terminate the booking without any refunds.
There will be someone to meet you on the date of your arrival after 16.00. Check-out time is at 10 am.
Please inform us of your arrival and departure time at least 2 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. This will help us to give you a better service and avoid waiting time at check-in and check-out.
It may be possible to use Casa Crofto's mooring, but as there are strict rules as to the size of the boats allowed to use the mooring here, please contact the owner before bringing your boat.
Fresh bed sheets and towels will be provided. You must bring your own beach towels.
